For a better tomorrow..!!!!!!!!!

This one song had taken back seat for a long time. Thanks to Prashanth,my very good friend for reminding me of this one yet again..and for telling me to look beyond the reasons attached to the temporary detachment I had..:) thanks a ton! One song which makes me experience a lot of beautiful emotions every time I listen to it..one song which made me a much more intense worshipper of the legend ARR ..one song which is synonymous to peace...that is 'Vellai pookkal' from the Tamil movie 'Kannathil Muthamittal'. Maniratnam sir's stunningly brilliant movie which will make you experience love..pain..the joy or parenting..the bliss of motherhood..a million such fab emotions. Music that was made so haunting and divine..music that is so close to reality..music that is a journey between reality and dreams..

The album had one amazing bunch of singers rendering their voices to it making it one stupendous piece of art..It is one song you can listen to through out the day and night..one song you will wish never ended..one song which never left me..no matter how many other songs I heard after it was composed..specially the lyrics of the song so apt and so intense..it rightly captured all the emotions the song wanted to convey..Vairamuthu is one fantabulous lyricist who gave soul to this amazing composition.. a magical tune from the magical composer..one song where all the barriers of language and culture will vanish and where just music will reign..

One song that is so full of hope..positive vibes..a song that will give new life to your dream of a new sunrise amidst all the engulfing darkness..It is true that "Music creates order out of chaos..for melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed.. and rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent.."It is absolutely true that we cannot appreciate the miracle of a sunrise unless we have waited in darkness..'Rahman's haunting voice will bind you to the soul of the song and will take you to the unknown heights and depths of music..where you just let yourself free of all worries and heartaches.

Let's not give up on that hope of a better beautiful world to be in..where everyone will see the beauty of rain drops falling and feel the hustle of the gentle breeze passing through the fields cutting across all barriers..let's not stop dreaming about that much awaited tomorrow..where you will see white blossoms of that 'perfect someday'.. let's believe that this is what furthers and perseveres...

"Peace is not something you wish for..it is something you make...something you do..something you are and something you give away... there is no way to peace...peace is the way.."

One day for being ‘HER’!!!!!!!!!

It was only when one of my friends messaged me HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY did I realize that one Sunday when I was practically doing nothing but just diving deep into songs and a lot more of it was actually ‘one’ day to celebrate womanhood. The realization sunk in with many more messages..newspapers writing about so many of them..famous..not so famous..and a whole bunch out there who suddenly are glorified Ok..let me not sound like a feminist and say why only one day and all that..lol

The intention behind this post is simple..It is very very personal and just could not help writing it. ..lol..Just wanted to tell three wonderful women I know that they are way too special in a million unique ways. Rachi aka my angel from heaven, Tintu aka my VH1 and F.R.I.E.N.D.S freak, Sonia aka my best bully, confidant and my confession box. So.. my Women’s day eve was with them and was just very special.. (and am still smiling…)

Angels do exist. My angel has no wings but yes I doubt there is a hallow somewhere. “When angels visit us, we do not hear the rustle of wings, nor feel the feathery touch of the breast of a dove; but we know their presence by the love they spread in our hearts…” someone coined it right. I can feel it too..Rachi.. you are a wonderful sis. an amazing daughter and just the BEST wifey… an all rounder.. I look up to you for all that you are (but I still envy your eyes…lol) “For there is no friend like a sister, in calm or stormy weather, to cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray, to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands…” and this is just you… love you so very much

Sipping my boring cappuccino (thanks to my messed up throat..sighhhh) and talking about almost everything under the sun, time and again I get reminded of the fact that these guys are just amazing. The best roomies I have ever had. Tintu and Sonia. I still wonder with my eyes wide open..what do we talk so much every day till 1.. 2 in the morning as though there is no tomorrow??!!! Well not of course about Women empowerment, but ya about the small little things that make our rented house a home and have given it a soul. Wishing you both nothing but the BEST …in whatever you do..where ever you go. “Even though we're changing and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all still friends..”

This one goes out for you three and for all the wonderful women in the world…for all those who can dream that there is no such place called as far away.. ( all men please excuse..let me be a little biased here..lol) Directed by my Idol Maniratnam, this Tamil movie “Kannathil Muthamittal” was unbelievably amazing with its amazing story line and the wonderful aspects of womanhood that it had touched. Again , none other than the legend with his ‘Rahmania’ amazed millions with the album that still remains a favourite. Chinmayi you are my adorable darling and will remain so no matter how many singers will come..

And then..silence prevailed!!!

Like each one of you out there.. even I felt miserable.. felt lost and hassled.. things are such right now!! With all channels time and again glorifying the terror..piercing into the unknown depths of all those who lost their dear and near ones.. many others who got affected.. traumatized..scared and all that. Something unfortunate which spilt the suffocating truth.. Are we really safe at home??

I can’t exactly say “I know how it feels like” because I really don’t.. I can just feel how I would have felt if I were there in any one of their places instead. That very thought itself is disheartening. Some songs depict certain situations just right.. this particular song from the climax scene of the much liked movie “Bombay” by the legend Mani Ratnam is one such song. Someone rightly said “Music creates order out of chaos: for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous”

Again, I have no intentions of digging deep into the much more disturbing concerns… just a silent protest..a token of respect and tribute to all those ..I am trying to find peace within myself..so that I can be one such person who can live at peace with others.. "Hope".. I feel is the most exciting thing here. Never am I compromising on that. The much clichéd “Let’s hope for a better tomorrow” still makes a lot of sense to me. I still see that one day when all this will come together..what all of us have wished for has finally come to be..

“Live this day as if it will be your last. Forget yesterday's defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow. This is it. All you have. Make it the best day of your year. The saddest words you can ever utter are, ''If I had my life to live over again. ''Take the baton, now. Run with it! This is your day! Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again…. There is no way to peace, peace is the way.”
