Life....a different take!!!!

Happened to watch this amazing movie ' Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and had quite a few moments of realisation as the movie was progressing. It was one such experience where you experience change as the situations in the movie change...Had to write about it... just could not stop myself from this post...like how one character in the movie says.. 'I hate regrets' too :)

I have often felt that life as it is the most taken for granted thing in this world... we always tend to take this beautiful irreplaceable gift that we have totally for granted..trying to chase a lot of things that are actually just not worth it...life indeed is what happens to you when you are trying to figure out ways of pulling through it..

Totally fell in love with this track..the very first time I heard it... its sad that I did miss out on a lot of songs like this in the break that I had in life.. a while ago... but again..like the good old saying goes... better late than never... :) 'Der lagi lekin' is a soothing melody which will hit your senses hard and make you experience a wide range of emotions as you listen to it..Shankar Mahadevan has made use of his magical voice to its best... this one song will definitely make you pause for a while and think ...about life as such..

There comes a point in life when you learn to go with the flow...without getting lost... without falling down... when you start viewing things through a totally new perspective..it happens with you..it happens with me...when you know what 'living' actually means... when you stop complaining about those things which you don't have.. when you stop shedding tears that will never give you any answers...when you realise why some things are the way they are...when you know where you are going wrong...when you just embrace life just the way it is.. and accept everything in it gracefully... both the chaff and grain...life in its totality...

Its so true that many of us keep recycling our past and refuse to move on..we all need that one push to get going... to stop worrying about what is going to happen tomorrow and instead..take some time out to live our 'today' to its fullest potential..let's not rush through those moments to which we need to pay a lot of attention to..coz like they say..'in just two days..the tomorrow you are worried about..will be your yesterday'.. so..its time to let go... and make each day count...because we deserve a lot better :) some sadness..some sunshine..its all part of the game..treat every second like a new season..and let life go on with its tides...

"Dilon me tum apni betaabiyaan leke chal rahe ho..to zinda ho tum..
Nazar me khwabon ki bijliyaan leke chal rahe ho..to zinda ho tum..

Hawa ke jhokon ke jaise aazaad rehna seekho..
Tum ek dariya ke jaise lehron me behna seekho..
Har ek lamhe se tum milo khole apni baahen..
Har ek pal ek naya sama dekhe ye nigahen..

Jo apne aankhon me hairaniyaan leke chal rahe ho..to zinda ho tum..
Dilon me tum apni betaabiyaan leke chal rahe ho..to zinda ho tum.. "

"It is my life..it is my one time to be me...I want to experience every single thing in it..give it all I have got...love it with a passion.. because life truly does give back..many times over... what you put into it..."

Beyond the horizon...!!!!

Was watching this Malayalam movie 'Sukrutham' after long and it kinda shook my senses off very badly... sometimes hard realities of life uproot us totally and you try to find a base to your existence.. The movie talks about Ravi Shanker who miraculously escapes from the deadly arms of cancer with his dedication and perseverance .. gets back to life and realises that even though he has come back.. everyone else has moved on.. the movie ends on a negative note where he crushes his new life.. and puts an end to his terrifying loneliness... it really moved me..made me realise the shallowness of life without someone around you... the void which will form in the absence of a dream in our lives...

We all cherish and nurture some dream or the other at each phase of life. Some of us leave everything and everyone behind chasing that dream of ours.. and in the end get back to where we belong realising that what we were looking for all this while was actually within us... 'Sapnon se bhare naina' from the fab movie ' Luck by chance' amazingly captures this reality through its mesmerizing tune and the so close to life lyrics. This one song is one of the million reasons I have immense respect and admiration for Shanker Mahadevan, the musical maestro! Javed Akthar saab belongs to a divine league altogether..

'Sapnon se bhare naina' depicts the chase in all of our lives.. the chase that at times leaves us in a huge void but some other time takes us beyond the horizon of our make believe world..Even though the movie didn't do that well as expected this one song am sure got all the desired and deserved attention..one toast to all the aspiring talents in the wonder industry of movies. Someone rightly said once..."Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not. We must remember that what you now have was once among the things that you only wished for.."The journey continues forever..we still go on thinking our destination has not been reached and forget to 'live' the life that we have been gifted with..it is by all means the journey that matters not the destination.

We have to always know that what is not started today is never finished tomorrow...Wordsworth once said "As high as we have mounted in delight..In our dejection do we sink as low.."Let's not let this happen... we should maintain the rhythm of life during highs and lows..and its true that what we dream of will be ours..Sometimes we know the path..but dont know where it will lead..not knowing where we will end up should inspire us to trod the less chosen path..There is no better time to be happy and content than now..so make happiness a journey life life and not a destination..Let our dream be like the sun..as we tred towards it... let it cast the shadow of our burden behind..

"Only as high as I can reach can I grow, only as far I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be..Now, bring me that horizon!!!"

PS: 'Serenity' , my mindchild completes 2 years today. Just wanted to say a note of heartfelt gratitude for all of you out there for watering the seeds of my thoughts through your constant feedback... Now on 'serenity' will also hold an 'anti music piracy' badge..stay blessed!

Until..!!!

You sometimes tend to take things totally for granted. Some things seem insignificant to you, but in real they actually turn your life around and make you realize that you should have taken a little more care… can remember a trillion such things that happened till date…Seems like today is that ‘someday’ when life till date start reflecting in front of eyes like a recap..

Never knew a cough that was bothering me for a long time would take the form of an interesting illness that will take my ‘breath’ away…literally…lol..never knew one such thing as ‘caste’ which I had only seen mentioned in my SSLC certificate will be a reason for letting go of the most priceless and precious thing of life..didn’t know that being too open and honest actually pays its price..small things do make a difference.. Sometimes one word that you really ‘care’ needs to be said at the right time. Never take that for granted...They say it’s a wonderful feeling when you lose all that you have this very moment and get them back..but to be brutally honest..it does not happen always..still you wish for it.. :) that’s the way of life

One song that reflects this emotion is ‘Kitni baatein’ from the stunningly brilliant movie ‘Lakshya’. One song that caught my attention the very first time I heard it as a caller tune in my kid bro’s phone … (Thanks Kanna for making me wait for you pick up the call…your proud sis :) lol )Still wondering how I missed it when I watched the movie!! Soothing.. soul stirring and touchy..that’s ‘Kitni baatein’ for you. The lyrics is just mesmerizing!

No matter how careful you are .. at times you have this sense that you missed something ..there is this feeling that you rushed right through the moments where you should have been paying attention . .. so listen to your mind..and just give voice to your thoughts.. don’t always hold back

I have always felt that “You never leave someone behind, you take a part of them with you and leave a part of yourself behind….” Sometimes you need to learn what changes you need to make to turn your life around and then go for it.. rather than letting the life you dreamt of get washed away in the storm ..right in front of your eyes…!!!Indecision brings its own delays.. so just don’t keep it for another day… what you can do..or dream you can.. seize it this very moment..so that some days and years down the lane you don’t sit and take a sigh of regret for something you didn’t say or do..because not really all the treasures on earth can bring back one lost moment of your life.. so just go for it.. live in such a way that memories will be part of your happiness..

“The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live….I find that the further I go back, the better things were, whether they happened or not..”

Nouvelle Vie!!!

The title is just a reflection of the new craze that I have developed…this love for French as a language : ) Life has given me this 'surprise' break from all the madness and from all the daily to do lists…so thought would make the most of it and do something off the track…

Have been diving deep in to songs..movies and a lot more of it.. and having some realizations that have helped me move on..and face everything with my much clichéd 70 mm smile..I have learned to hold fast on to my dreams and hopes ..as someone once said..if dreams die..life is life a broken winged bird that cannot fly! It just seems hard at times.. but for every dark night there is a bright sunrise awaiting you.. and the things that you fear are just undefeatable not by their nature but by the way you look at it. The same old logic of seeing half glass empty/full : )

“Nouvelle Vie” means “New Life” and this particular song from the wonderfully made movie ‘Phir Milenge’, which gave out a fantabulous message, reminds us of the fact that it is never too late to start living a new life. There is always a new way to look at things…if you don’t have all the things you want ..you need to be grateful for those things as you don’t want them in your life actually. You can still do without : ) “Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”I agree to this two hundred percent!

Conquering any obstacle has always given me a secret joy. It has always meant pushing back a boundary line and adding on to one’s liberty. It just meant not to be dragged into silence and never let anyone define life for you but yourself. Knowing this, still most of us live life without making a stand, contented to blend into the background of self-rendering nothingness, and when looking back feel contented at our mediocre accomplishments. No one remembers the drops but the ocean…

“When you have come to the edge Of all light that you know And are about to drop off into the darkness Of the unknown, Faith is knowing One of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or You will be taught to fly”

MAGIK !!!!!!!

I just could not help writing this… It is just that am way too carried away by my emotions after watching the musical extravaganza ROCK ON. I never knew I would be lucky enough to watch ROCK ON premiere…

I got back home late in the night humming “Ye tumhari meri baatein” taking along with me a positive message… one that will keep me going for long… may be forever…till I get done with my time here… Music has been something that has always helped me get going… and yes the simple yet amazing script just got my eyes wet every now and then throughout the movie.. It is something only music can do to you…

Joe, Aditya, Rob and KD and their MAGIK (the band) will take you through a lot of emotions where you just will be feeling nothing but music at the end of it all. Farhan’s magical voice has done wonders. But yes my personal favourite from the entire album is “Ye tumhari meri baatein” by Dominique Cerejo...she is just unbelievably talented I must say…. The trio… Shankar Ehsaan and Loy have proved once again that they are just THE BEST…..

The movie has made me do a thorough research on Rock music…a genre where am totally clueless about the technicalities involved.. hats off to all the Iron Maiden’s and Aerosmith’s of the world….Need to know a lot more… every single day is a learning here..In this world of music.... and I just love it!!!

MAGIK- creates magic around… when they perform.. and when they get on to the stage live after a hiatus of ten years… you just feel elated… on top of the world.. When all your senses are just tuned into them…when you know Music is what feelings sound like….

There are times in your life when you pause and think that…it would have been better to have met a person in your dreams; than to wake up and reach out for hands that are not there…The positivity ROCK ON brings on to the table is amazing… Life does give you a second chance… You are never too old to dream a new dream or set another goal..all you need to do is to believe in yourself and believe in what you feel… rest will be taken care of! And that is exactly what it says. It is never too late to follow your dreams….so…ROCK ON….
“You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'”
