Some songs get into your mind and gently touch your soul for the very simplicity and the genuine nature of the tune. One such song that I have been waiting for is finally out… ‘Kannolam’ from the much awaited Malayalam movie ‘Plus 2’ carries that whiff of fresh air.. that gentle breeze that will sooth our mind… like how Da Vinci said once.. “ Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” and I truly feel that simplest things are most often the truest. ‘Kannolam’ carries within that mesmerizing touch of a soulful melody which am sure will slowly but surely get into every music lover’s mind space.
At a time when movies are plentiful and songs are numerous its very tough to find your space in the magical world of silver screen and Manu Ramesan, the creator of this track is certainly going to make it big there.. this is just an indication for the fab journey awaiting him over the years..a day when I can take credit of being one of his early admirers.. Manu is a promising music composer and has done a fab job in his first movie in Malayalam.. creating an identity of his own.. growing beyond the level of being the talented son of an amazingly gifted lyricist Sri S Ramesan Nair..it must be in his genes I say : )

Each of us pass through that phase where you begin to understand the intensity the beautiful emotion called love.. those growing up years.. where you have not completely lost the child in you.. but you are on the verge of coming out of your cocoon… to be in a world of a whole new emotions and relationships.. ‘Plus 2’ is a movie that features a bunch of school students and the various shades of their lives..the ‘love’ here then of course is not the usual kind.. it is as pure as the dew drops.. something as serene as the buds of flowers yet to bloom.. gentle.. soft.. divine..this wonderful characteristics are brilliantly captured in the track which is so rejuvenating… “Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art.”I completely agree to this…
We all sometimes sit and look back to those years of innocence where we believed in that link between angels and men.. believed in being loved.. believed in belief itself …this one track will take you through the memory lane and make you experience all that you used to experience during those wonder years where the painful realities of this unforgiving world of ‘now’ was nowhere in your sight. Someone rightly coined this once “The magic of first love is our ignorance that it will never end..”that is the very beauty of this tender emotion. We all fall in and out of love many times during the course of a lifetime, but the first rush of love always holds a unique place . It’s novelty, like the first drops of dew on an untouched leaf just has some divinity attached to it…
Our mind is a place where we live our dreams.. it is fragile yet wonderfully resilient..love yet again is nothing but the discovery of our self in someone else..
