Children of Heaven!!!!!

The title inspired from an Iranian movie which I heard is going to be made in Hindi soon by our very own Priyadarshan casting Darsheel Safari, the wonder kid from ‘Taare Zameen Par’. Was just trying to trace those faces down the memory lane. Kids have always amused me..kept my spirits alive..made me smile and made me believe that there is still some amount of goodness remaining in this unforgiving world.

I have always felt that they are God’s messengers from heaven and they try and spread his messages to all. I have been planning to adopt a lot many of them :) and the list seems to grow day by day. Children..they are divine..serene and heavenly. Some of them just get my eyes wet..every time I bump into one of those serene ones stretch their hands for those one rupee coins at traffic signals.. one of those days I decided to do my bit.. if at least one Kid could get something as precious as a safe future.. all it takes for us to compromise on some pizzas and burgers.. some cold coffees and some junk stuff.. it might really help them.

My association with CRY began then… I have never got an opportunity to see that kid who is my link with CRY.. one of those the society addresses with much insensitive terms.. I can never accommodate..The word ‘Mentally retarded’ or ‘Mentally Challenged’. It should be banned I feel..Someday I want to hold her close and tell her that she is not alone.. her dreams are dreams too..

‘Taare Zameen Par’ was one amazingly sensible and brilliant movie which dealt with a much more sensitive issue in an extremely sensible way. ‘Ishaan’ is there among us… there are a million other kids like him. Those ones who really don’t have the privilege of being born in a family that can afford to ladder them reach those stars. The shining stars of their dreams and aspirations… With an amazingly soul stirring rendition by my all time favourite Shanker Mahadevan, the title track stands out from the rest of the tracks in the album. One movie for the collection of sensible movies. Aamir. You are just brilliant and I have immense respect for your talent. This one song for all those divine ones out there.. and for all those yet to be born!!

Those serene sweet little ones who are as pure as those dew drops..those adorable bundles of joy and our hope for a better tomorrow..Let’s not let their dreams perish.. let those buds bloom..let those little tiny feet pitter patter its ways into the world of dreams and promises. Let them have in them..the urge to dream..the will to succeed and unlock the door to the promised world of wonders. Like the American author Kate Douglas said once..” Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility”… Join the journey..do your bit today.. you can give colours to some one’s sunset sky too..

“I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.”

PS: Thanks 'achayaa' for that chit chat.. you gave me a thought :) stay blessed!!

yup, and the underlying sentiment would be unconditional love and acceptance; a quality for which parents have been referred to as divine in many of our scriptures and folk tales. Sadly though things are a bit different in present times. The movie is an all time classic, I could specially relate with Ishan because I too suffered from mild form of dyslexia as a kid, couldn't stop crying when I first saw the movie :D

Hello Sangeetha..Yet another very good post... very emotional and factual...Strong enough to get people inspired...

You also linked it beautifully to a fantastic song..sung by a very under rated singer- Shankar Mahadevan..
